This map of Durham is just one of fifty hand-drawn and hand-coloured decorative historical maps drawn by John Garnons Williams depicting each of the old English counties at the time of Domesday Book. THE LIMITED EDITION
Measuring 21.5 x 17.25 ins (54 x 44 cm), this highly-collectable edition is printed on heavyweight textured fine linen paper and every intricate detail of the map is hand-coloured with light resistant inks. This takes between three and four hours for each individual map. Each map, numbered and signed by John Garnons Williams, is supplied with a translation "Key Map", showing the equivalent modern place-names, together with detailed historical and linguistic information.
