This map of Durham is just one of fifty hand-drawn and hand-coloured decorative historical maps drawn by John Garnons Williams depicting each of the old English counties at the time of Domesday Book. John Garnons Williams has also drawn maps of Medieval England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, as well as a light-hearted decorative "Guide to the BBC Shipping Forecast"

THE LIMITED EDITION

Measuring 21.5 x 17.25 ins (54 x 44 cm), this highly-collectable edition is printed on heavyweight textured fine linen paper and every intricate detail of the map is hand-coloured with light resistant inks. This takes between three and four hours for each individual map. Each map, numbered and signed by John Garnons Williams, is supplied with a translation "Key Map", showing the equivalent modern place-names, together with detailed historical and linguistic information.
